How to Dress a Dog for Valentine's Day

What cuter way to showcase Valentine's Day than on your canine companion? Your dog doesn't know how cute he looks all dressed in pink and red, but your family will love it. And once you pick out the outfit that you want your dog to wear, the hardest part will be catching your dog and manipulating his squirming body into the clothes.

Step 1:
Buy an outfit from a dog apparel store. If you can't find a store in your area, check online. There are many websites that sell adorable dog clothes for all holiday occasions, that any dog would be happy to dress up in.

Step 2:
Look for something pink or red, even if your dog is a boy. Tell him not to worry, everyone wears pink or red on Valentine's Day.

Step 3:
Keep it simple and just tie something around your dog's neck. Buy a collar with hearts or Cupids. You can even tie a red or pink bandana around your dog's neck. This might be what you want to do if your dog is being less than helpful and won't let you dress her in the pink sweater that you bought her.

Step 4:
Dress your dog in a Valentine's Day-themed costume. Cupid is a great option, because you can buy a pre-made halo headband and wings to fit your dog.

Step 5:
Sew or knit your dog a Valentine's Day themed item, if you want to give him something more personal. You can make him a hat, scarf sweater or sweatshirt.
